Energy management is relative to how much energy is being consumed.  For example, compared to car maintenance and income taxes, some can do this on their own, some hire professionals.  A tax accountant is a tax "consultant", they advise what's wrong and help you save money.  The Energy Consultant is an energy "accountant" that advises what's wrong and causing the high costs and helps stop the waste, change the habits, or advise on retrofitting equipment.

In Nova Scotia, the price of electricity is reasonable compared to other areas. However, two aspects will impact how high your bill is.  First, what is running 24/7 other than a fridge? Maybe a second fridge or freezer?  But more importantly are the fixed costs of our bills.  I've had customers who can't save anymore, it is what it is!  But check.  Book a site visit to see if you're that customer or not!

It's a simple way to pay for energy management.  It makes sense to manage your energy as you pay for it and consumed.  The same services and information as a site visit are delivered at the beginning of the subscription, but with ongoing support and data analysis.  The subscription is for one year or it can be extended.  Of course, it may also be cancelled any time after 60 days.

In addition to a home site visit, a plan will be developed with you to chart the course to savings.  No savings are overnight except turning things off or changing to LED bulbs.  

A deep analysis of your energy consumption (gas, electricity, oil, propane) will provide a lot of clues to habits and seasonal costs.  My heating costs were up $50 this year compared to last year because I couldn't use my heat pump for a week or so.  It was so cold!  

And of course, with every bill cycle is a review of progress shows how much is being saved.
